Provenance: bought from a Romani musician with the help of Professor Stefan Herman; used by Edward Zienkowski during his studies in Gdańsk, at the 1972 H. Wieniawski Violin Competition, during his studies in Hanover and after he joined the Berliner Philharmoniker (he became first violinist in 1979)

Description: instrument probably assembled from parts of a few other instruments; was a 7/8 size violin when bought, then the neck was elongated by a violin maker in Berlin
